Aaron & Hannah’s Autumn Wedding at Horton Grange Country House
Karen & Anthony’s wedding day at Vallum Farm in Northumberland; an amazing wedding venue which is fast becoming one of my favourites to shoot. The converted barn is perfectly set up for every type of wedding with marquee style drapes and fairy lights, there’s tonnes of outdoor space too with stunning views of the Northumberland countryside and a teepee bar, perfect for a sunset cocktail while you rest your dancing feet! Karen and Anthony really made it their own with a lovely mix of traditional and rustic details, with hessian and wooden signage, twinkling gin bottles and endless gorgeous floral decorations.
I first met Charlotte and Matt in 2019 for a lovely wedding chat over coffee at Dil and the Bear in Tynemouth, where they told me all about their exciting plans for their wedding day in May 2020(!) Sadly as we all know, the universe had other ideas and their plans unfortunately had to be put on hold. But fast forward over two years to September 2022 and they were finally able to celebrate their wedding day, surrounded by their family and friends at one of my favourite local venues, The Parlour at Blagdon.
Charlotte & Matt had an intimate and heartfelt ceremony in the beautiful, newly converted Smithy at The Parlour, followed by cocktails and confetti in the picturesque grounds. After a couple of drinks and celebrations with their guests, we drove down the road to Northumberlandia to take some amazing newlywed portraits in the incredible landscape and woodlands there! It was a beautiful, sunny day and the location was just perfect for capturing some stunning photos of the happy couple.
Back at The Parlour, The Willow Room was beautifully set up for Charlotte and Matt’s reception with tequila and travel themed favours and a gorgeous wedding cake featuring a tiny model of their adorable pup taking a bite! Their guests enjoyed some excellent speeches from Matt the groom, the father of the bride, maid of honour and best man shortly followed by an absolutely delicious three course meal (thank you for feeding me, guys!)
The Parlour has a newly renovated outdoor space with cosy seating, firepits and a canopy which made for lovely interlude before the evening celebrations kicked off. This was one of the best evening receptions I’ve had the joy of photographing for a while. The fun and elation was infectious and I couldn’t help grinning from ear to ear with every epic dance move I caught on camera! Congrats Charlotte and Matt for throwing such an incredible wedding, it was such a huge pleasure to be your photographer!

Claire and Elliott’s beautiful spring wedding was just amazing and I’m excited to share some of my favourite images from this very special day! They had their wedding ceremony at St John’s in Killingworth which is surrounded by woodland, filled with beautiful trees and lots of daffodils and bluebells. After a heartfelt ceremony witnessed by their nearest and dearest, and one of the longest, most enthusiastic confetti lines I’ve ever seen, the guests were whisked off in a vintage double decker bus to an exciting reception at The Parlour at Blagdon.
The Parlour is fast becoming one of my favourite venues to shoot. I love how they’ve opened up the outdoor space with the canopy, it’s intimate without feeling small and it’s the perfect size for guests to mingle and move freely without feeling too separated. From a photographic point of view, there are so many beautiful spots in and around the grounds to take portraits, I’ve had the pleasure of shooting several weddings here now and they’ve all felt unique and special!
I loved every one of Claire and Elliotts wedding details; gorgeous white and pink roses, bright pink bridesmaid dresses complimented with cornflower blue tie for the groom. Hand drawn illustrations and names of fells for the table centrepieces, pink silk chair wraps, and a classically perfect three tier wedding cake with floral details.
After their wedding breaktfast, the evening reception brought a new lease of life with more friends, Claire’s bouquet toss, toasted marshmallows and s’mores around the fire pits, cocktails and a dance floor so bouncing that every time I was about to pack up and go home, something exciting would happen and I’d find myself staying for another song!
Nicky & Paul had a truly special day when they tied the knot at North Tyneside Registry Office in North Shields. They had kept their plan to wed a complete secret from their unsuspecting family, who thought they were just in Whitley Bay to enjoy a family holiday, but Nicky and Paul surprised everyone with the news that they were actually all there to celebrate their wedding! They’d planned absolutely everything from outfits and accessories for everyone to an amazing wedding cake and celebrations at How Do You Do in North Shields.
After an intimate ceremony with the wonderful registrars at the Maritime Chambers, I whisked the new Mr & Mrs off for some photos around North Shields Fish Quay. I’ve come to know this area really well and we didn’t have to go too far to find some pretty special backdrops. I love this part of the day because it gives the couple a chance to be alone and enjoy the moment, the wedding day can go so quickly so this time is precious!
We got some gorgeous images down by the beach with Herd Groin and The Port of Tyne in the distance. Nicky & Paul were total superstars, so loved up and full of joy!
